About Centrifuge Extractor (Hand Operated)
The Instrument is used for determination and checking of Bitumen percentage in Bituminous mix, the mix is added with a solvent and dissolved bitumen is removed by centrifugal action. Consists of a removable Aluminium rotor bowl. With a cap and tightening nut. The bowl assembly is mounted on a vertical shaft, which protrudes from a cast housing. This shaft and thus the bowl is rotated fast manually by enclosed gears in the cast body and handle. Solvent is introduced during the test through the holes in the cap of the housing. A drain is provided to collect dissolved Bitumen coming out of the rotating bowl and getting collected in the housing.Reliable Bitumen Extraction for Precision TestingThis hand-operated centrifuge extractor is essential for accurate testing of bituminous mixtures in civil engineering and road construction. Its manual design and corrosion-resistant materials provide consistent results, whether used in laboratories or field settings. The robust cast iron stand and steel base ensure stability during operation.
Engineered for Durability and VersatilityWith a powder-coated finish, removable bowl lid, and smooth hand crank, the extractor promises ease of use and longevity. Able to process sample sizes up to 1500g, users benefit from swift, efficient extraction in a variety of environments, supported by convenient accessories like filter papers for clean operation.
FAQ's of Centrifuge Extractor (Hand Operated):
Q: How do I operate the Centrifuge Extractor (Hand Operated)?
A: To use the extractor, place your bituminous mixture sample (up to 1500g) in the centrifuge bowl, secure the removable lid, insert filter paper, and manually rotate the hand crank to reach speeds up to 1800 RPM. The solvent and extracted bitumen are discharged through the drain port.
Q: What types of samples can be processed with this centrifuge extractor?
A: This extractor is designed to handle asphalt and bituminous mixture samples, making it suitable for road construction and civil engineering laboratory tests. The bowl accommodates material up to 1500g or 1500ml volume.
Q: When is this equipment typically used in field or laboratory environments?
A: The centrifuge extractor is used when precise measurement of bitumen content is required, especially during quality control, research, and inspections in road construction projects or laboratory analysis.
Q: Where should the centrifuge extractor be installed for optimal safety and performance?
A: For best results, install the extractor on a stable, level surface in a laboratory or controlled field testing area. The rigid cast iron stand and milled steel base help prevent movement and enhance user safety during operation.
Q: What is the process for cleaning and maintaining the centrifuge extractor?
A: After each use, remove the centrifuge bowl and clean it thoroughly, including the filter paper and lid. Wipe down the outer cover to preserve the powder-coated finish and inspect the hand crank mechanism for smooth operation. Regular maintenance ensures durability and reliable performance.
Q: How does using this centrifuge extractor benefit civil engineering projects?
A: By providing accurate bitumen content extraction, the extractor helps ensure quality and consistency in road construction materials. This contributes to better project outcomes and compliance with industry standards.
